Faith and Light is an international, ecumenical movement. Faith and Light want to welcome disabled people, their families and friends to the community. Young people as old, believers as non-believers – anyone who wants to create a community on impaired people are welcome!
In Denmark, faith and Light have started in Catholic auspices, but there are a lot of Lutheran members. In other countries there are, for example ecclesiastical, Orthodox, Anglican, Lutheran and the Salvation Army communities. There are a total of 1500 groups in 82 countries.
Faith and Light wants to be a living sign that the least esteemed and often uttered people are welcome in the heart of their church. Each member of the faith and light is therefore part of their own parish community. We want impaired members and their families to see that they are not alone. We want to show our members their special gifts and beauty. Through the friendships that arise in faith and light, we believe that our members can grow both on the human and spiritual level. In this way, we all hope for a new meaning with our lives. Whether we are parents, family, friends or handicapped people.
In Sacred Heart Church, Faith and Light meets every 3. Saturday from 12:00 – 16:30. The meeting starts with mass and then we eat our lunches and exchange news and talk about the theme of the month.
